According to the memory of Peg DeBold Russell, Anna Miller took her sister, Emma, and brother, Henry, to raise as soon as she was old enough to do so. Their mother had died when Emma was 7, and she and Henry were placed in an orphanage since their father was unable to care for them.
George Miller, her grandson, recalled that Anna Miller owned and ran a candy store on 238th Street, Bronx, New York, for many years.
