The obituary in the St. Joseph, Missouri, "News-Press" on February 22, 1996, of Paul K. Violett mentioned that he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence G. Violett. The Social Security death index showed that Clarence Violett, whose Social Security number 487-20-1859 was issued in Missouri before 1951, had been born November 16, 1925, and died January 6, 1992.

The St. Joseph, Missouri, "News-Press" for January 7, 1992, available on the internet for purchase in August 2000 at https://archive.stjoelive.com showed "Clarence G. 'Ducky' Violett Sr., 66, St. Joseph, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1992, at a local hospital. Mr. Violett, a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, was retired from Quaker Oats after 39 years of service.

"During World War II, he served with the Navy. He was a member of the Quaker Old-Timers; American Legion Post No. 359 and Brotherhood Lodge No. 269, A.F. & A.M. Mr. Violett was a charter member of the Community Christian Church. In 1946, he married the former Hannah Wolfe in Troy, Kan. She survives of the home. Mr. Violett was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Romano.

"Additional survivors: two sons, Pat and Mike, both of St. Joseph; two daughters, Valarie Dugan and Rhonda Withrow, both of St. Joseph; five brothers, Paul, Leo, David and Billy, all of St. Joseph, and Ralph of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Ruth Foley of Fullerton, Calif., and Blanche Belding of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

"Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Clark-Sampson Funeral Home. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: after noon today, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight."
