In an August 1998 conversation, Jean Jahraus and Edna Mary Hutchinson recalled that their uncle, Benjamin Thurtell, had remarried Minnie after Conchessia's death. Minnie had not realized that Ben was an alcoholic before she married him. They recalled that Minnie spent quite some time in the Traverse City, Michigan, mental institution before her death in the mid 1960's. There was no nursing home in Traverse City at that time.
