Notes for Wesley WITHROW

The 1901 Grant County, Wisconsin, Biographical Sketch Book, in the entry for Daniel Stanton, shows that Wesley Withrow, son of William and Martha Withrow, was married and a farmer at Waukon, Iowa.

The Wisconsin marriage index shows that Wesley Withrow was married July 24, 1886, in Grant County, Wisconson, and the record is in Volume 6, Page 519, Sequence 23740.

The 1926 "History of William Withrow" by Nellie Stanton shows that "Wesley was born March 2, 1852. He married Elizabeth Hooser and four children were born to them, two daughters and two sons, Harriet, Ida, Wesley and George. Wesley was engaged in the early part of his life in the wood business, boating to Dubuque. Later he moved to the northern woods of Wisconsin. He never was a robust man but was always industrious. For the last twelve years of his life, owing to failing health he was very quiet. He died at the St. Joseph hospital at Chippewa Falls of lingering paralysis, Feb. 2, 1920, aged sixty-eight years, leaving to mourn his loss two sons and two daughters, all of whom are still living."
