The 1870 U.S. Census for Groton, Caledonia County, Vermont, on pages 70A-70B, lists George and Nancy Ricker and their family just below the family of Nancy's brother, Ebenezer Plummer, who is just below their parents, Samuel and Nancy Plummer. George Ricker is shown as a white male age 36, born in Vermont, and a farmer with real estate valued at $2000 and a personal estate valued at $500, and eligible to vote. Living with him is Nancy Plummer, a white female age 24 who was born in Vermont and whose occupation is keeping house. None of the parents of either of them were of foreign birth. Also with them are Roney Ricker, a white male age 3, and Samuel Ricker, a white male age 2, and Anna Mary, born in May, all of whom were born in Vermont.
