The 1860 U.S. Census for Groton, Caledonia County, Vermont, on page 171 shows John Morrison as a farmer, age 41, with real estate valued at $900 and personal estate valued at $50. He and all the other members of his household are shown as born in Vermont. With him are Charlotte Morrison, age 44, Martha Morrison, age 17, Abram Morrison, age 15, Daniel Morrison, age 10, and Louisa Morrison, age 5. All four children attended school within the year according to the census record.

The 1880 U.S. Census for Groton, Caledonia County, Vermont (ED 45, Page 14) lists Abraham Morrison and his family. He is shown as Abram Morrison, a married white male age 32 born in Vermont as were his parents and a farmer. His wife, Rufina Morrison, is shown as a married white female age 28 born in Vermont as were her parents whose occupation is keeping house. The census was enumerated June 1, 1880, and also lists their children, Nellie Morrison, a white female age 6 who is in school, and Frank Morrison, a white male age 1/12. Both of the children were also born in Vermont.

The U.S. Census for 1900 for Groton, Caledonia County, Vermont (SD 274, ED 44, sheet 7) shows Abram Morrison as a white male farmer age 32 born in July 1847 in Vermont and that he owns his own farm. Both his parents and those of his wife as well as both of his listed children were born in Vermont. He and his wife, Rufina J. Morrison, were married 29 years according to this census record. She is shown as a white female age 48 born in May 1852 and the mother of three children, all living. Their son, Frank M. Morrison, is shown a single white male farm laborer age 20 born in April 1880. Their daughter, Minnie B. Morrison, is shown as a single white female age 16 born in February 1884 and that she attended school.
