The death certificate from Leelanau County Clerk, Leland, Michigan, shows Walter Thurtell, infant son of Walter B. Thurtell and Conchissie I. Karns, was born in Michigan and died at the age of 8 days in the Township of Empire, Leelanau County, Michigan. A lookup of the same death record showed that the writing was unclear but that it appeared that the cause of death was "five months poetus" and that Walter Thurtell, infant, died June 15, 1914, age 8 days, in the Township of Empire, Leelanau County, Michigan, and that the parents were Walter B. Thurtell and Conchessia J. Kasson.
