Information received from her son, Anthony William Barnett, in 1999 confirmed that her name was Erma Rosella Thurtell and that she died February 28, 1957, in York, York County, Nebraska. The obituary in the York Daily Newspaper showed "Mrs. Erma Rosella Brahmsteadt was born March 17, 1917, to Robert and Sylvia Thurtell at Akron, Colo. She died Febr. 28, 1957, at the age of 39 years, 11 months and nine days. On Febr. 29, 1952, she was united in marriage to Clarence Brahmsteadt at Geneva. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran church Dec. 19, 1954. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Ladies Missionary Society, the MUM Garden club and a county extension club. Funeral services were held March 4 at St. Paul's Lutheran church, the Rev. Hopmann officiating. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery at York. She is survived by her husband, Clarence; one son, William Barnett; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thurtell of Akron, Colo.; five brothers and four sisters."
