An email later on July 26, 2000, advised that the wake for Ann Thurtell would be at Whelan Bros Funeral Home, 3700 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, New York 13219, 315-488-5555, 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2000; and the funeral services will be at Holy Family Church, 122 Chapel Drive, Syracuse, New York 13219, 315-488-3139, on Friday July 28, 2000.

Zangrilli Thurtell, 86, of 507 Jane Drive, Camillus, died Wednesday at home. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Syracuse Normal School and Syracuse University. She was an elementary teacher for 20 years with the Syracuse school district. She was a member of Holy Family Church. Her husband, R. Dean, died in 1992. Survivors: Two daughters, Jeannette Carter of Camillus and Marilyn Banyai of Collegeville, Pa.; a son, Robert D. Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Services: 12:30 p.m. Friday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home and 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial, Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 3700 W. Genesee St., Fairmount. Contributions: Holy Family School Endowment Fund, 122 Chapel Drive, Syracuse 13219."
