Notes for Charles EMERY

The book "Mister Glover's Groton" on pages 39-40 lists the people who attended the first town meeting of Groton, Caledonia County, Vermont, on March 20, 1797. This list includes Charles Emery and his sons-in-law Jonathan Welch, Bradbury Morrison, and James Hooper, as well as Charles Emery's sons John and Timothy Emery. The same book on pages 70 and 71 shows that a listing of the sheep owned by Groton farmers in 1803 shows that Charles Emery had two sheep. There were a total of 195 sheep in the town in 1803.
