A book, Descendants of John Tanner, by Maurice Tanner, published in 1942, and listed in the internet library of Family Tree Maker in 1999, showed that Harry Vanwert Cords, son of Albert Warren and Vivien Annetta (Thurtell) Cords, was born October 23, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois. He was married on January 1, 1937, in Harvard, Illinois, to Lois Glenna Prehn, who was born July 18, 1917, at Harvard, Illinois. As of 1942, Lois is shown as Mrs. Harry Cords, West Ave., R. I., Elmhurst, Illinois. This book shows that as of 1942 Lois and Harry Cords had no children.

Information received in 1997 showed that his second wife was Hattie Etelka Schmidt.

The Social Security death index shows Harry Cords was born October 23, 1913, and obtained his Social Security number 332-10-3377 in Illinois before 1951. He died July 3, 1996, while residing in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona 85033.
