Notes for Alfred Pears MURRAY

The family tree done by Harriet Thurtell about 1900 lists him as Alfred E. Thurtell and shows he married Mabel Robert and had two children, Jack and Martin.

Information received from Peter Murray in 1997 shows that Alfred, the eldest son of Alfred and Ann (Pears) Murray, was born March 13, 1860, and died December 15, 1913. He was Collector of Customs, and later Head of the Department of Customs and Excise in East London. He married Mabel Cordelia Roberts, who was born June 14, 1869, and died September 9, 1946. They had three children.
