Notes for Edward Ebeneza EVANS

The family tree done by Harriet Thurtell about 1900 and the History of the Thurtell Family done by Susan Persia Thurtell about 1968, both in the possession of Susan Persia Thurtell Miller, show Edward E. Evans was first married to Dorothy Iles and had one child, Dorothy Winifred Anne Evans. He was then married to Hariette Davis. He and Hariette had three children, John Austen Reginald Evans, Lionel Courtney Evans, and Lettice Mary Evans.

The balance of the information about him and his family was received from Peter Murray in 1997 and is based primarily on the Thurtell Pedigree.

He is shown as Edward E. Evans, a woollen manufacturer, age 24, born in Stroud, Gloucester, England in the 1881 British Census CD. The dwelling is shown as Brimscombe Court, and the census place is Stroud, Gloucester, England. The source is FHL Film 1341614, PRO Ref RG11, Piece 2545, Folio 44, Page 29. He is living with his parents, Philip C. Evans and Annie Evans, his grandmother, Sarah Murray, and two domestic servants, Emily Howell and Julia A. Bratton.
